Are You Purring?

Late one afternoon, Mr. Leon had asked Alejandro to help him with some yard work. During Alejandro’s break, he went into the living room and saw Celeste sitting on the couch watching TV.

Celeste: Hey, hope my dad’s not working you too hard.

Alejandro: Not really.

Celeste patted the spot next to her and he plopped down and placed his head on her lap. She then began to stroke his head; soon, an interesting sound came from Alejandro.

Celeste: Are…? Are you purring?

Alejandro: *blushes* Uh, no?

Celeste: Yeah, you did. Heehee, you’re like my kitty.

Alejandro’s brow furrowed and he growled.

Celeste then scowled.

Celeste: Keep that attitude up and you won’t get petted.

Alejandro’s face relaxed.

Alejandro: Fine. Just don’t call me your “kitty”.

Celeste: Ok, puddy tat. Heehee!

Alejandro: Really?

Celeste: It’s that or “kitty”.

Alejandro: *sighing dejectedly* Kitty it is.

Celeste then began to stroke and scratch his head once more. Alejandro’s purring got louder.

Celeste: *coolly* Who’s my kitty?

Alejandro: *sighing happily* I am.
