Cleo de Nile was at her locker checking to see if her make up and bandages were in place.
"Honestly, is there anyone in the world prettier than me," she asked in a snooty tone.
"Yeah, there is."
Cleo jumped and slammed her locker door to see who had said that. It was Deuce Gorgon, Cleo's boyfriend.
"What did you say to me?!"
"You heard me. And it's Frankie Stein by the way. You and me are done, see ya."
As Deuce walked away, Cleo stood there dumbfounded and angry.
"Frankie, you and Deuce are gonna get it!"
Meanwhile, Frankie was at her locker when Draculaura walked up.
"Hey Frankie, you wanna go to the maul later?"
"I wish I could, I'm behind on my Mad Science homework. And if I don't improve, my dad's gonna ground me till I'm 20."
"Days?"
"Years!"
"Wow, that bites," said Draculaura.
"I'll say."
Frankie and Draculaura turned to see Deuce standing there.
"Hey Deuce, what's going on," asked Frankie.
"Oh, nothing. Just wanted to let you know I broke up with Cleo. And I wanna go out with you."
Both Frankie's and Draculaura's mouths dropped.
"You did what," exclaimed Draculaura.
"Why did you do that to Cleo," asked Frankie.
"I just got tired of her bad-mouthing you. She's really jealous of you. So what do you say?"
"Uh, I don't know Deuce. I need to think about it."
"Well, you know where to find me."
"Deuce gave her a wink and walked away just as Clawdeen and Ghoulia walked up.
"Hey ghouls! What's with the surprised looks?"
"Ugh."
"Frankie just got asked out by Deuce Gorgon!"
"What?!"
"Ugh! Moan!"
"I know Ghoulia, I can't believe it either," said Frankie.
"So what are you gonna do," asked Clawdeen.
"I think you should talk to Cleo first," said Draculaura.
"You're right, I'll go right now."
As Frankie walked away, Deuce was hiding around the corner, and in a flash turned into Frankie. Meanwhile, Cleo was in the Ghoul's room crying her eyes out and smearing her make up.
"How could he do this to me?! I'm an Egyptian princess, no one dumps me!"
"Well, there's a first time for everything."
Cleo turned and saw Frankie standing in the doorway.
"You! I'll tear you limb from limb!"
Cleo began to reach for her but Frankie stood her ground.
"Take one more step and I'll unwrap you!"
Cleo backed off and Frankie continued.
"You might as well face it, Deuce has moved on. I never did see what he saw in you. You're just a spoiled little brat who throws a fit when you don't get your way. And by the way, that look went out last millennia."
And with that, Frankie walked out leaving Cleo burning with rage. Later, the other Frankie walked in.
"Hi Cleo, I wanted to talk to you about Deuce..."
"Don't you say another word to me you pathetic excuse for a science project!"
Frankie did her best to fight back her tears but she dug deep and kept going.
"What's wrong Cleo? What did I do to make act so vile towards me?"
"You stole my boyfriend that's what!"
"But, I..."
"Save it! I'm going to find the worst Egyptian curse and put it on you and Deuce!"
Cleo then stormed out leaving Frankie alone and shocked. Clawdeen, Ghoulia and Draculaura walked in moments later.
"We heard it all Frankie," said Clawdeen.
"You guys have to believe me, I would never do anything to hurt Cleo!"
"We do believe you. We're gonna figure this out," said Draculaura.
"Uggghhh. Ugh."
"Thanks Ghoulia. You always know what to say to make me feel better," said Frankie.
The four friends walked out of the Ghouls room. But hidden behind one of the stalls, the other Frankie began to giggle.
"This is turning out to be more fun than I had imagined. Time for Phase 2."
As she was laughing, Frankie then turned into another girl with purple hair, red eyes and gray skin wearing jeans, a black jacket and a rainbow stripped shirt with red sneakers. Her laughter intensified as she thought up other ways to make Frankie's and the others lives miserable.
To be continued...
