Outside at the fountain, Deuce was sitting there waiting for someone and Lagoona sat next to him.
"Hey Deuce, whacha doin'?"
"Oh, hey. I'm just waiting for Cleo; she was supposed to meet me here about five minutes ago."
"Really, I'm sure she'll turn up eventually." There was a long pause and then Lagoona continued. "You know, haven't you always wondered why is it that everyone is always nice to you?"
"Well, I am a nice guy."
"Wrong! You know what I think; they're afraid of you. Oh for sure you are a nice guy, but then what happens when you get angry at someone? Just one look from you and poof; they're stone. I would be scared too, if I knew someone who could do that."
"But I would never…"
"But deep down you've thought about it, haven't you?" Deuce didn't answer. "I thought so. And that's why you don't have any real friends at all."
As Lagoona walked away, Deuce hung his head in shame and from behind his glasses; a single tear fell to the ground. Meanwhile in the cafeteria, Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Ghoulia were trying to cheer Frankie up from her fight with Cleo.
"Don't worry about Cleo, I'm sure in time she and Deuce will get back together before Homecoming and you'll be off the hook," said Clawdeen.
"Yeah, they usually break up about three or four times a month," said Draculaura.
"Ugh. Ugggghhhhhh."
"Guys, I know you're trying to help but she's really upset with me; I don't think this is just gonna go away anytime soon."
"Well, I know what you need. I'm gonna go get you some fig newt cookies," said Draculaura.
"And I'll go and get you some chocolate goo to drink," said Clawdeen.
"Awww thanks you guys," said Frankie as she hugged her friends.
Both Clawdeen and Draculaura went off in different directions. As Draculaura was putting money in the vending machine, Clawdeen came up to her.
"Clawdeen, I thought you went to get Frankie chocolate goo."
"I am but there was something I wanted to discuss with you and I couldn't do it in front of Frankie or Ghoulia." She pulled her aside and continued. "How does it make you feel? I mean, you've always been crushing on Deuce for a long time and now he that he's free from Cleo he goes and asks Frankie out. I bet you were really angry about that weren't you?"
"Well, no I wasn't."
"Oh come on, don't deny it. I notice how you always drool over him when you think no one is looking; you are a pretty vampire no doubt, but I do wonder. Maybe the way you dress may have played a part in it."
"What?!"
"Really Draculaura, the whole gothic-lolita thing has been way over done. Don't you think maybe you should update your look? I mean, have you seen yourself lately? Oh wait, I forgot; you can't!"
Clawdeen walked away laughing leaving Draculaura on the verge of tears. When she got back to the others, Clawdeen was about to give Frankie her drink when Draculaura stormed up.
"Who do you think you are insulting my style?!"
Clawdeen was too shocked to answer.
"Draculaura, what's the matter," asked Frankie.
"Be quiet Frankie, this doesn't concern you!"
"Ghoul, I don't know what you are talking about,' said Clawdeen.
"Don't play dumb with me you…you…mangy mutt!"
"Draculaura," cried Frankie.
"Here's your cookies Frankie," she said as she threw them down in anger. "I gotta get some air."
She turned and stomped her way out the doors. As Clawdeen, Frankie and Ghoulia just looked at each other in silence, the other Clawdeen laughed and then turned into Draculaura.
